The Dallas World Aquarium

The Dallas World Aquarium is like no other in the country, with its excellent exhibits and long history! Located at 1801 North Griffin Street, the Dallas World Aquarium has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 1997 while being a part of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 2000. The aquarium started in an old warehouse that opened to the public in 1992 before purchasing an adjacent building and turning it into an aquatic ecosystem in 1996. The channel between the buildings was formed into the Orinoco Secrets of the River in 1997, turning a vacant lot behind the original building in 2000 into the Mundo Maya exhibit in 2004.

The aquarium’s newest exhibit, the Cloud Forest Trek, was opened in 2020 and features a third-floor rainforest attraction that includes a 25’ high and 52’ wide LED screen that extends the exhibit into the clouds, integrating display technology within the live jungle foliage and animal exhibits!

The Dallas World Aquarium aquatic exhibit includes freshwater and saltwater tanks with remarkable species. These species include palm tree polyps, harlequin shrimp, pot-bellied seahorses, colt corals, and red mushrooms anemones. They also showcase moon jellyfish, ribboned seadragons, giant clams, bat starfish, blue dot stingrays, giant Pacific octopus, and many more! With its other exhibits, such as the Cloud Forest Trek, Mundo Maya, Orinoco, South Africa, Borneo, and Photo Ark, the Dallas World Aquarium is a beautiful place to take the kids!
